LIGHTNING SPEEDWAY®

ENTERTAINMENT 

The classic movie "LeMans" with Steve McQueen was viewed 

with on the new 60" wide screen during the shindig.

MONOGRAM VINTAGE LEMANS CARS

A good assortment of the club meetings theme vintage Monogram LeMans Vintage cars 

were present.  There were an number of Ferrari cars, one GT40 and a Rover BRM bodied

Monogram along with a 1/24 Monogram with a Cox Dino Ferrari Body.  The GT40 and the

Ferrari 275 from Paul Coppin were by far the class of the field and best in the Concors

Judging.  The GT40 was particularly stunning and all original.

RIVERSIDE TRACK - THE RACING VENUE

Final competition with the Monogram LeMans cars and  good assortment of laps

with other vintage rides were run on the gorgeous 4 lane Riverside track.

Even without today's magnetic downforce the cars did very well

on this track.  The final race after Concors judging was a real nail bitter with 

Paul Coppin finishing with 35 laps just a fraction of a lap ahead of Nick Zuk

also with 35 laps and John Allard just behind with 34 Laps running Paul's GT40.

THE TROPHY WINNER

Mr. Paul Coppin won the "Vintage Champion" trophy with a dominant showing in

the Concors Judging and a win in the racing competition albeit a scant one.

OTHER NOTABLE SIGHTINGS

Paul Coppin had a gorgeous collection of Monogram 1/32 cars

in addition to the stunning LeMans entries. 

Paul Coppin also had a gorgeous Monogram Grand National 1/32 Car in 

his assortment in addition to the stunning LeMans entries.
